Nottinghamshire's red-ball Captain Haseeb Hameed has signed a new two-year contract at the reigning county champions. Batsman and one-day Skipper Joe Clarke has also put pen to paper, also keeping him at Trent Bridge for the next two years.
Hameed, 28, joined after leaving home county Lancashire in 2019 and has scored more than 5,000 first-class runs, including 13 centuries, during his time at Nottinghamshire. During Notts' title-winning 2025 campaign, Hameed notched up 1,258 runs at an average of 66.21 in all formats.
"It's an absolute delight to sign a new contract with Nottinghamshire, which is a club that means so much to me," Hameed told the club website., external "I'm so proud to captain this club, and lifting the Championship trophy in front of our members and fans this year was one of the best moments yet of my career."
Ahead of the 2024 season, Hameed was named captain of Nottinghamshire's red ball side after Steven Mullaney stepped down, and has scored more than 1,000 runs in the County Championship while leading his side. Head coach Peter Moores added: "From the moment Hass walked through the door, it felt like a good fit between him and the club."
"His ethos of trying to constantly improve his game and, over recent seasons, his leadership as well, epitomises everything we try to do here. "Hass is a young leader, and in his prime as a player. By leading the team to the Championship this season he's already written himself into the history books, though most excitingly, it feels like there's still more to come."
Meanwhile Clarke, 29, has been at Trent Bridge since moving from Worcestershire in 2019 and has scored nearly 8,000 runs in all formats for Notts. Clarke scored 664 runs with three half-centuries and one hundred as Notts won their first County Championship title since 2010 this summer.
"It's a great feeling to sign a new contract and commit to staying with this club for another two years," said, external Clarke. "We've had an amazing season this year and some of the memories we've created as a group are among the best I've had in my career so far."
Clarke, who captains the Outlaws in T20 cricket, has also won the 2022 second division Championship title with Notts and his second Blast title in 2020, having been part of Worcestershire's T20 triumph in 2018.
"Joe's role as a leader in our dressing room is crucial both as our T20 captain, as well as providing support for [captain] Haseeb [Hameed] in the Championship," Moores said. "He's also at the forefront of our goal to build a new T20 team to be competing for honours in the future, and carry on the strong legacy we have built in this competition over the years."
The pair have joined Ollie Stone in agreeing new deals at the club after the England fast bowler signed a new one-year contract earlier this month.
