Ellyse Perry finishes with 223 runs in The Hundred this summer

Ellyse Perry hit a superb unbeaten half-century to lead Birmingham Phoenix to a five-wicket victory over MI London in The Hundred. The Australia great finished on 62 not out from 39 balls as Phoenix, set 121 to win, got over the line with six balls to spare at Edgbaston. It is just a second win of a difficult campaign for Phoenix but one that ensures they leapfrog MI London and avoid finishing bottom of the women's table.

Having opted to chase, Phoenix were quickly on top as they reduced MI London to 29-3 and then 47-4, before a 57-run stand between West Indies' Chinelle Henry and captain Hollie Armitage helped get the visitors up to 120-6. It looked like being enough as Phoenix lost Alice Capsey and Emma Lamb in quick succession to slip to 48-4 in reply. But Perry remained and the 35-year-old showed all of her class and experience to control the chase from there.

Fatima Sana provided the support Perry needed, scoring 36 from 32 in a fifth-wicket partnership of 66. The Pakistan skipper couldn't quite see it through and it was left to Perry, who hit seven fours and two sixes in a classy knock, to finish the job - drilling a four through mid-off to level the scores before winning it with a delicate scoop.

Fire finish on a high with win over Spirit

Welsh Fire won by 15 runs

Georgia Wareham hit her first half-century in The Hundred as Welsh Fire ended their campaign with a comfortable 15-run win over London Spirit. With both sides already eliminated, only pride was at stake at Sophia Gardens, and Wareham's 33-ball fifty proved decisive. The Australia all-rounder took Fire to a winning total of 138-7 with a fine late assault to rescue an innings that had stalled following a fast start.

Spirit were soon in trouble in the chase as Fire seamer Grace Potts removed the top three inside the powerplay, taking two in two balls to dismiss Grace Harris and Marie Kelly. Skipper Charlie Dean helped get her side back into the game as she shared useful partnerships with Charis Pavely and then Nadine de Klerk but when Dean fell for 27, Spirit were 75-6 and struggling.

Fire were in control but while Deandra Dottin remained, Spirit had hope. The big-hitting West Indian was left too much to do, though, and when she was dismissed with five balls remaining, any lingering doubt over the outcome evaporated.

Fire end their campaign fifth in the table with Spirit sixth. Georgia Wareham hit her first fifty of this year's Hundred to boost Welsh Fire.

Today is the last day of the group phase so the competition takes a very brief break on Thursday before the knockouts start on Friday. Both the men's and women's Eliminator matches will take place at The Oval with Sunrisers Leeds facing Southern Brave in the women's contest from 14:15 BST. Manchester Super Giants will be in the men's Eliminator from 18:00 with their opponent still to be determined. The finals at Lord's follow on Sunday with Trent Rockets men's and women's sides awaiting the winners of the Eliminators.
